Our Story: Start Small, Grow Strong

We provide an inclusive space where multicultural youth ages 5–10 discover tennis while building essential life skills. Our coaching is rooted in a deep professional foundation, combining Professional Tennis Registry (PTR)  and Elementary Education certifications with a B.S. in Community Recreation.

Our Philosophy: The Power of Starting Small
Our journey hasn’t been a straight line; we have faced the ups and downs of starting over, eventually finding our true niche in youth development. We know what it feels like to be the underdog—starting as the last person on a freshman high school team and persevering to play collegiate tennis. This taught us that effort and the simple "feel of the ball on the strings" are far more valuable than any trophy.

Our Method: Learn to Rally
Our flagship Learn to Rally program is designed specifically for beginners, utilizing a "simple-to-complex" progression. By using lower-compression balls and modified courts, we focus on the ABC’S—Agility, Balance, Coordination, and Swing Path. This approach ensures every student feels successful from day one.

Empowering Young Learners
We believe in a gradual release of responsibility. Through small class sizes and cooperative learning strategies, we empower students to take ownership of their own growth. In a fast-paced world, we encourage our students to pause and discover their personal "WHY"—teaching them to compete within themselves while fostering deep connections with their peers.
At 10s Kidz, we aren't just teaching a game; we are giving students a foundation of skills and memories that will last a lifetime.

"Teaching tennis and life skills to multicultural youth in a collective and inclusive environment using a standard based teaching methodology to give each student the skills to last the rest of their lives."

Your Stories

"We have seen a noticeable change in our daughter's level of confidence, strength, and focus since she began working with Coach Matt. Tennis is fun for her and she enjoys practicing on evenings when there is not class. We had tried many other team sports and just didn't find a good fit until now. We highly recommend Ten and Under Tennis Lessons with Coach Matt!"

-Parent

"Coach Matthew Brodt explains the drill, demonstrates it, then practices it. After every practice he ask his players two questions:  What did you learn today? What did you enjoy doing? My daughter has had so much fun this year and her passion for tennis continues to grow as well. Thank you for all of your hard work!"

-Parent

"Coach Matthew has a deep understanding of working with kids. His focus on fundamental skills is second to none."
