Our Story

We teach tennis and life skills to multicultural youth in a collective and inclusive environment using a teaching methodology which will give each student the skills to last the rest of their lives.  We accomplish this mission by developing student skills from the simplest to the most complex part of a skill. Students use a gradual release of responsibility method to model, guide, and promote independent practice utilizing cooperative learning strategies to create a family atmosphere. Through cooperation the student learns to keep the ball in play and compete within themselves. In this fast-paced world, where everyone wants the now result, we focus on each student's WHY and the PROCESS of growth allowing the student to be present and love the experience they are having.

We are Native-Operated and honor our ancestors and the land we walk on. Our logo symbolizes the circle, which is important to our Ojibwe culture. The circle has no beginning and no end. It teaches us we are connected to everything. The green line in the center represents life and The Good Path we all walk.

Your Stories

"We have seen a noticeable change in our daughter's level of confidence, strength, and focus since she began working with Coach Matt. Tennis is fun for her and she enjoys practicing on evenings when there is not class. We had tried many other team sports and just didn't find a good fit until now. We highly recommend Ten and Under Tennis Lessons with Coach Matt!"

"Coach Matthew Brodt explains the drill, demonstrates it, then practices it. After every practice he ask his players two questions:  What did you learn today? What did you enjoy doing? My daughter has had so much fun this year and her passion for tennis continues to grow as well. Thank you for all of your hard work!"

"I have a kiddo that is very anxious. Matthew has totally won her over and that is no easy task. He is very knowledgeable about the sport of tennis but also incredibly patient & kind and has a very rare ability to see and frame everything in a positive way. Cannot recommend him highly enough!"
